Our organic activated walnuts are soaked and dehydrated at low temperature to maximise digestibility and nutrient availability. Walnuts are an extremely versatile light and crispy nut containing copper, iron, magnesium and manganese.
'Activated' simply refers to the process of properly preparing nuts and seeds through soaking (in filtered water) and dehydrating (not roasting!) at low temperature to reduce phytates and enzyme inhibitors naturally found in all nuts and seeds. Traditional societies, the world over, soaked their nuts/seeds in rainwater and sun dried them to maximise nutrition. This process increases the bioavailability of nutrients and improves digestibility. Why activated? Learn more here.

Serve: Eat as is for a nutrient-dense snack, add to muesli, salads (i.e. roasted beetroot salad with currants, rocket and shaved reggio or goats cheese) or baked goods (like my banana date walnut loaf or a carrot cake!).
Storage: Store in fridge or cool dry place.
