4 Ways To Incorporate EO's

Dear YL community,
Here are the 4 ways that I have incorporated YL products into my life that have radically changed the way I live, treat, heal and shop:
1. Healthy swapping personal care products and household cleaning products
I have created a low tox home environment (the ONE and ONLY environment I CAN control!) by swapping out all my conventional personal care products and household cleaning products with YL products as a redirection of resources.
The ingredients in conventional personal care products and household cleaning products are questionable at best and toxic at worst. Ingredients like PEGs, propylene glycol, artificial fragrances, triclosan, oxybenzone, and bleach (just to name a few!) are toxic. Toxins cause inflammation and we know that inflammation is the root cause of all modern disease. And here we are inhaling them, applying to our and our kids’ skin, scalp, hair and nails! And then we wonder why we get sick or dis-eased.

For the first few months of being introduced to Young Living, I only used their oils and didn’t appreciate Young Living is so much more than the world’s largest producer of the highest quality essential oils. Their real magic and convenience is the fact that they make an entire range of oil infused personal care products and household cleaning products from shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, mouth wash, hand soap, body soap, face cleanser, deodorants, moisturisers, hair oil, laundry liquid, dishwashing liquid, household cleaner, men’s aftershave, and of course the oils themselves are the original air fresheners and perfumes. The Thieves household cleaner is extremely powerful, toxic-free, disarmingly cost effective ($1.60/500ml) and can be used to clean EVERYTHING from floors, benches, toilets, showers, windows, basins and everything in between, liberating an entire drawer of household cleaning products! These Young Living products replace what you would otherwise be purchasing from somewhere anyway so it just makes so much more sense to re-direct your resources to one supplier. Plus, they deliver to your door!

2. First-aid kit and medicine cabinet
YL has empowered me to become my and my family’s healer by using the oils as my first aid kit and medicine cabinet to nip any issues in the bud in the first instance and support our system. This is hugely empowering as a parent!
Pure therapeutic-grade essential oils are potent plant medicine at their core. Mankind has been using botanicals as medicine for millennia. A pure unadulterated Young Living essential oil is basically a potentised (super concentrated) plant botanical (100 to 10000 times more potent that the plant from which it came!).
When children present with a runny nose, congestion, a temperature, a cold, teething, tummy pain, headache, an insect bite, a cut, sting, burn, sore muscles, can’t focus, have sleep issues, need an immune boost or are feeling stressed or fearful….it’s so empowering knowing that you can turn to one of the oils in the first instance to support their system. There are options other than Panadol, Bongela, Mortein, Aeroguard, Dencorub, Vick’s, Codrol cold and flu or other pharmaceuticals which …all have side effects!
Even though I stopped using pharmaceutical products 25 years ago, and instead used homeopathics or herbal tonics, it isn’t always practicable to dash off to a naturopath for day-to-day niggles. I wanted to be able to reach for something in my house at 2am if need be! YL oils filled that gap and that feels freakin’ empowering!!!!
3. Turbo-charge or enhance your health
The YL oils and products have taken my health to the next level by using them as a beautiful and powerful adjunct to the 8 Foundations of Health that I always talk about. I have been able to turbo-charge or enhance our:
nutrition (infuse the culinary oils into our food),
hydration (add the culinary oils to our drinks),
movement (apply certain oils and supplements to my body for recovery, healing and to enhance movement)
sleep (diffuse, apply to pillow cases and apply topically)
breathing, air quality, open up our sinuses and reduce respiratory issues
mindset, stabilise emotions, and help manage stress – this is where I have notices the BIGGEST and MOST PROFOUND difference in using the oils (my emotional /mental state). The oils have kept me in my light by keeping my vibration high and not getting pulled into the darkness.
connection with ourselves and from that place be able to cultivate deeper connections with others.
Connection with nature as they are nature in a bottle. We can’t always get out into nature but we can bring nature into our home with plants and potent plant botanicals – essential oils!
4. To create beautiful spirit and energy to my home/work environment
Diffusing the oils adds such a beautiful spirit and energy to my home and retail store (Broth Bar & Larder). They can literally change the energy of your home to create a safe and inviting space. The first thing people say when they step into my home is “your home smells amazing and has such a beautiful energy”. I didn’t get this compliment pre YL oils. I now have a diffuser in every room (one diffuser turned into 9 over the years). I can’t imagine my home without diffusing oils in every room. I often take a diffuser with me on holidays as it makes such a difference to how I sleep, focus and feel.
