Wholefoods for footy players!
I’m working with the Sydney Roosters this season as their nutrition coach to introduce them to the benefits that a nutrient-dense traditional wholefoods diet can have on their health, fitness and performance. Out with the sports gels and Nutrigrain and in with the bone broths and chicken livers!! So I’m getting down and dirty in the kitchen with some boisterous 18 year old boys …..last week we kicked off the classes with what to cook for breakfast. There was no complaints about pastured bacon and sausages, eggs cooked any way (boiled, friend, scrambled, omelette) served on buttery steamed greens, and washed down with coconut banana smoothies. This coming week I'll teach them the art of making delicious and nourishing slow cooked casseroles. So far the boys are very receptive and I'm really excited about the prospect of seeing their health, fitness and performance soar over the course of the season. GO the Roosters!!! (…am I allowed to say at this point that I don’t follow football?!?......well not yet! I never thought in all my living years I would ever utter the following 3 words “What’s the score?!?” )
